A Trusted Identity Partnership from Secure Credentials to Digital Services
What started as a modernization initiative for Driver’s Licenses and Identification Cards has developed into a long-term strategic partnership between Veridos and the Government of Yukon. Today, Veridos supports Yukon across several identity programs, from physical credentials to digital identity verification, helping the territory provide a modern, secure, and future-ready identity ecosystem.
A New Generation of Driver’s Licenses and ID Cards
Veridos was initially selected by Yukon Highway Public Works to deliver secure production, personalization, and fulfillment services for Yukon’s Driver’s License and Identification Card program.
In close cooperation with Yukon stakeholders, Veridos provided a complete end-to-end identity solution that included:
- Card design consultation and development
- Manufacturing of secure polycarbonate cards with advanced security features
- Secure personalization through laser engraving
- Centralized fulfillment to residents across Yukon
The new credentials introduced a modern card design reflecting Yukon’s visual identity while significantly enhancing security, durability, and resistance to fraud. All cards are securely manufactured and personalized at Veridos’ secure facility in Markham, Ontario.
Modernizing Health Care Insurance Plan Cards
Following the successful implementation of the Driver’s License and ID program, Yukon extended its partnership with Veridos to modernize the territory’s Health Care Insurance Plan cards. The project replaced legacy paper label-based health cards with durable, laser-engraved polycarbonate cards developed to strengthen security and minimize the risk of fraud.
The new healthcare cards provide:
- Enhanced durability and a longer lifespan
- Improved protection against fraud
- Secure laser-engraved personalization
- Centralized and secure issuance and fulfillment
- Readiness for future photo-enabled healthcare cards
This modernization strengthened the security, durability, and reliability of Yukon’s healthcare identity credentials while enabling an efficient centralized issuance process throughout the territory.

Every Driver’s License, Identification Card, and Health card issued to Yukon residents incorporates Veridos’ advanced FUSE ID security feature. This state-of-the-art technology provides additional protection against counterfeiting and tampering, helping make Yukon’s credentials among the most secure identity cards in North America.
Together with durable polycarbonate construction and secure laser engraving, Yukon’s credentials are designed to deliver long-term security, reliability, and trust for residents.

Building on its established partnership with Yukon, Veridos developed a secure User Portal that digitally verifies Yukon-issued identity documents and allows residents to safely access online government services from either a mobile device or desktop computer.
