Veridos America, Inc. Announces Next-Generation Montana Driver Licenses and ID Cards

Dulles, VA — Veridos America, Inc. (Veridos), a leading provider of secure identification solutions in North America, today announced its partnership with the Montana Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) to deliver the state’s newly redesigned, next-generation driver licenses and identification cards. The new credentials, scheduled for statewide issuance beginning December 2025, bring a major upgrade in security, durability, and design—reflecting Veridos’ commitment to protecting identities through advanced technology and secure production processes.

The redesigned Montana credentials are constructed using 100% laser-engraved polycarbonate, the most secure and long-lasting card substrate available for government-issued IDs. The cards incorporate a robust set of Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 security features, including microprinting, ultraviolet design elements, guilloche patterns, color-shifting elements,  variable microprint, tactile elements, and CLI lenticular structures—forming an intricate, layered defense against tampering and counterfeiting and helping Montana stay ahead of evolving security threats.

The new card designs highlight Montana’s iconic natural landscapes and state symbols, blending visual artistry with state-of-the-art security engineering. This integration ensures the credentials are both highly secure and visually representative of Montana’s heritage

Key features of Montana’s next-generation credentials include:

• 100% polycarbonate card body with long-life durability
• Laser-engraved portrait and data, providing exceptional resilience and tamper resistance
• Advanced covert and overt security elements, including UV rainbow printing, microprinting with deliberate errors, security backgrounds, and optically variable ink to protect against counterfeiting and replication
• CLI lenticular lens structure, embedding signature, date of birth, and photo within a tactile vertical lens
• Redundant ghost photo and tactile personalization etched directly into the card
• Unique inventory control number, enabling full tracking of card issuance
• Distinct vertical under-21 format, following AAMVA standards for easy age verification

All Montana licenses and ID cards will be produced at Veridos’ secure U.S.-based central issuance facilities, which meet the highest standards for physical and digital security. Current Montana credentials will remain valid until their expiration date.
